Vintage Death and Taxes
Why not shops?
While some people may consider shops to be a deck similar to Death and Taxes, the deck tends to play more like artifact decks like MUD in Legacy or Affinity in Modern compared to traditional Death and Taxes. In addition, the deck is also one of the most dominate decks in the format, making it less interesting to write about. But the main reason I dislike categorizing shops as a Death and Taxes style deck is it lacks Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, which every other deck has (excluding standard, where Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is not legal).
About Mono-White Eldrazi and Taxes:
Although the deck is far from tier one, it does have its strengths and weaknesses. Since Vintage is a very fast and unfair format, Aether Vial and Flickerwisp tend to be too slow and weak compared to the broken cards available in the format. Therefore, the deck relies of moxen and sol lands to power out its creatures. The deck looks to be playing turn one Thalias (both Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Thalia, Heretic Cathar), along with turn 1-2 Eldrazi, mainly Eldrazi Displacer, Thought-Knot Seer, and Reality Smasher.
